OMG OMG OMG
I weighed in after my workout tonight and I'm down FIVE POUNDS from last week!!!!! HOLLA! I must have been having a fat day yesterday ;)
The Liebster Award
I was nominated for a Liebster award thanks to my buddy Stephanie over at DIE(T)ING to be a Skinny Bitch, you are so sweet to nominate me, I am honored! A Leibster Award is given to new or newish bloggers with under 200 followers. In order for me to have a chance to win this award I have to complete a few tasks. Unfortunately I don't follow many new blogs, I have a few faves that I check in on now and then but I don't make time to check new ones out. I know I'm immediately disqualified for not having 11 new bloggers to pass the award to but I still want to play along ;)
So here is a list of the rules:
11 random facts about me:
Stephanie's questions to me:
1. What is your guilty pleasure ? Watching TV. I love my TV.
2. What is your favorite activity? Does sleeping in count? No? Anything with my kids, they are the most amazing human beings EVER and everything they do is awesome. I feel like I don't spend nearly enough time with them as I should since I work full time so I truly cherish the time I do have with them.
3. What is the one goal your are striving to achieve more then anything? Getting fit and getting my 17 year old body back. I miss that 6 pack and those nice legs and dammit they WILL be mine again.
4. What is your favorite blog to read ? DIE(T)ING to be a Skinny Bitch, of course, and The Bloggess
5. What are you most proud of accomplishing? My home life. I have 2 happy, healthy children; a happy husband; a home we own and we are soooo close to being debt free.
6. What is the most spontaneous thing you have ever done? Ummmm? I really can't think of anything. Most things I do are pretty well thought out. Probably buying our house.
7. What silly thing do you do behind closed doors? SING! I like to crank the music up when I clean and make it fun.
8. What is your all time favorite song? Always Be My Baby--Mariah Carey
9. What is your idea of a perfect day? Sleeping in, not having to worry about cleaning, cooking or laundry, and being able to go out and do something fun for the day like take the kids to the park, then to the movies and shopping.
10. What chore do you hate more than anything? Cleaning the toilet. Makes me gag. EVERY. TIME.
11. What is your favorite nail color? I really like french tip nails but I'm trying to be more of myself, I tend to want to blend in and not stand out, so I'm gonna say hot pink with sparkles.
So here is a list of the rules:
- List 11 random facts about yourself.
- Answer the questions the tagger has set for you, then create 11 new questions for the bloggers you pass the award to.
- Choose 11 new bloggers to pass the award to and link them in your post.
- Go back to their page and tell them about the award.
- No tag backs!!
- I am pretty shy and reserved. I tend to observe people more than I socialize. If I make an effort to be your friend it means I really like you. I'm trying to come out of my shell though.
- I'm trying to convince my husband that when we move to the country I need 3 things for me to be completely happy: a screaming goat, a mini horse and an affenpinscher.
- I have 2 little princesses. Gentry is 6 and Hayden is 17 months.
- I want to live in Disney World. Hell, I'd even settle for Disneyland.
- I love traveling.
- I have a boxer named Tinkerbell and a siamese cat named Khloe Kardashian-Odom Hurst.
- I have been married for a few weeks shy of 7 years. Gentry was born a month before our first anniversary ;)
- I am the pickiest eater on earth. I literally have to force myself to drink water and eat healthy.
- I am SUPER stubborn. Huh, Stephanie ;)
- I love going to the movies.
- I work as a technical assistant and love all things programming related. I am a computer nerd by day.

Rant.
I'm physically and mentally drained. I feel like I'm taking on WAY too much. My everyday life of being a working mom and wife is busy enough, but I really want to focus on ME and get fit and healthy. I'm not sure if it was the best time to do this but adding a food diary and exercising into my daily life is time consuming in itself. I'm also working feverishly to pay off our debt so I can eventually be a stay at home mom if that is the path we decide to take. I feel like I am being pulled in a million different directions and I'm not able to do anything good enough. Our bills are slowly getting paid off, we are down to 1 credit card that *should* be paid off within the next 6 months. There are so many things that I need to do but just don't have the energy to do them. I miss sitting on the couch after the kids go to bed and watching my trash TV. That time is now filled with my workout and a quick shower before bed. My 5am wake up call always comes way too early and it literally feels like I run for 12 straight hours until I walk in the door at 5pm. I'm struggling to find a balance with this all before I have a breakdown. Or eat a dozen donuts. Whichever comes first. I feel so much better watching what I eat and exercising but I'm not gonna lie. The 1.6 pounds I lost last week is pretty discouraging. I tried SO HARD to stay around my 1200 calorie goal and I stuck to my workouts and my reward is ONLY losing 1.6 pounds? I guess it could be worse right? I could have gained 1.6 pounds...I'm just tired and worn out and frustrated. I will get past this, I always do, I just needed to write it out so I can move on. End rant.

Fast food discoveries
I admit, I love fast food as much as the next guy. I have given it up (mostly) on my quest to get fit and I am utterly disgusted by the things I have learned. Here are a few things I have read so far, from restaurants I would normally eat at. WTF is this world coming to?!
Taco Bell (saw this on a fitness page I follow):
BAAAAAARF!!!
Taco Bell (saw this on a fitness page I follow):
Taco Bell's taco meat is only 36% beef.
The
list of ingredients for Taco Bell's "beef" include water, soy lecithin,
an anti dusting agent, and 'natural smoke flavor'. An Alabama law firm
is seeking a class action lawsuit against the restaurant franchise,
claiming that Taco Bell should not be
allowed to call their mixture "beef". According to the US Department
of Agriculture, ground beef is defined as 'chopped flesh and/or frozen
beef with or without seasoning and without the addition of beef fat as
such, shall not contain added water, phosphates,
binders, or extenders. 'We're pretty sure that Bell's concoction
contains more than a few of these if most of it ISN'T meat.
Although
this recipe is undeniably gross, the issue here is not that they are
selling fake beef—it is that they are selling fake beef and CALLING it
beef. The Alabama law firm is not seeking any money; they would just
like for Taco Bell to man up and
call their meat what it is. The only trouble is that the USDA states
that any food labeled as 'meat taco filling' must be at least 40% beef.
If this lawsuit is successful, it looks as though TB will either have
to add more beef or come up with an even more
questionable label for their product.
KFC (also saw this on a fitness page I follow):
I don't know how true these are but they really made me think. And gag. I'm vowing to not put ANYTHING into my body that I don't know where it came from or exactly what is in it. Same goes for my kids. They will learn to eat healthy if it's the last thing I do. And OMG don't even get me started on hot dogs. Check out this little gem.BAAAAAARF!!!
Bad day dudes
I know I went over. I know where I screwed up and I know that I can't ever ever EVER have bad food in the house because I will eat it. All of it!

I'm a survivor
I survived JMBR x2 today. Seriously don't know what I was thinking! Here's my log for the day. I can't resist the breadsticks and dessert pizza so I ended up throwing it away. What a waste of calories :( I got all 8 cups of water in btw, just didn't want to do another screen shot just for that.
Better late than never!
Here's my diary from yesterday. I went to the chiropractor after work because my back was killing me. I was all out of whack and my hips killllled me last night so I wasn't able to do my JMBR but I want to do 2 DVDs today to make up for it. Lesson of the day? Don't effing eat ANYTHING before looking up the calorie content! JESUS Papa Murphy's, 240 calories per slice of dessert pizza?! I'm speechless.

Goal!!
I have to start doing this if I ever want to get in shape and drop some serious weight. One day at a time.
Struggling
I am really struggling with being an emotional eater. Hence the Apple O's. don't judge me. At least by logging everything I have to be honest with myself and admit I have a major issue with this. I'm proud to say I worked my ass off and managed to stay under my calorie goal for the day. Fuck this is hard. Also, the cories burned during JMBR are estimated since I remembered to put my fitbit on after I already started the DVD. If anything I think it's an underestimate.

Juicing
I did it! I actually juiced! I used apple, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, mandarin oranges and carrots. It tastes good, the last few sips have tasted like carrot juice though *GAGS* I'm pretty skeptical about this actually keeping me full until lunch though. I plan to gradually add in more veggies (spinach, kale, etc.) but I'm happy to say that my first experience was a good one! For now I am only going to juice for breakfast, produce is expensive y'all!

Fabulous February!
Hello lovelies! I'm so glad January is over. The whole month was HORRIBLE for me! Long story short: Gentry, my oldest daughter fought the stomach flu for 6 days. My grandpa Jack had a heart attack and the next day my Papa Haddie was admitted into icu with pneumonia. That same day I was in the hospital with some super virus that was rapidly taking over my body. 4 days later my grandpa jack died. 3 days after his funeral my 1 year old Hayden got the stomach flu. Chase was sick too but not as bad as the rest of us. I feel exhausted, emotionally and physically, but I am so determined to make up for my weak dieting in January. I ordered Jillian Michaels 90 Day Revolution and a fitbit, I am also walking on both of my 15 minute breaks at work AND I'm going to attempt to get into juicing. I like eating so I don't know how that will work out but we shall see! Now I just need all of my new stuff to arrive so I can really kick some ass this month!
